txAdmin - The Server Management Panel

txAdmin is the de facto standard server management panel for FiveM and comes bundled with the FiveM server artifacts. It provides a web-based interface for starting, stopping, and monitoring your server, managing player bans and kicks, viewing server logs, and scheduling restarts. txAdmin includes a built-in admin menu that staff can access in-game for common moderation tasks like teleporting to players, spectating, and issuing warnings. The panel supports multi-user access with configurable permission levels, so you can give junior moderators limited access while senior admins retain full control. Setting up txAdmin is one of the first things you should do when configuring a new server, as it replaces the need for direct console access for most day-to-day administration tasks.

In-Game Admin Menus

Beyond txAdmin, most servers run dedicated in-game admin menu resources that provide quick access to moderation tools without needing to open a web browser. Popular options include vMenu, which offers comprehensive vehicle, player, and world management through a navigable menu system, and custom admin panels built with NUI that provide a modern web interface rendered directly in-game. A good admin menu should allow staff to teleport to and summon players, toggle god mode and invisibility for undercover moderation, spawn and manage vehicles, adjust weather and time, view player identifiers and connection information, and take quick moderation actions like kicking or banning. Permission systems should be granular enough to give each staff rank only the tools they need, preventing junior moderators from accidentally disrupting the server with commands they should not have access to.

Essential Admin Commands

Every FiveM server should have a robust set of admin commands accessible through the chat or console. Core commands include player management actions like /kick, /ban, /unban, /warn, and /mute with reason tracking and duration options. Teleportation commands like /tp, /tpm for marker teleport, and /bring are essential for responding to reports and monitoring player activity. Vehicle commands like /car, /dv for deleting vehicles, and /fix help manage the vehicle landscape. Server management commands like /announce, /restart, and /refresh keep operations running smoothly. All admin commands should be logged with the executing staff member, target player, and timestamp so you can audit staff activity and investigate any complaints about admin abuse.

Player Monitoring and Reports

Effective server administration requires knowing what players are doing in real-time. Implement a report system that allows players to submit tickets from in-game that appear in a staff notification queue, ideally with the reporting player's location so staff can teleport directly to the situation. Spectate mode lets staff observe players without being visible, which is invaluable for catching rule-breakers and cheaters in the act. Player information panels should display each connected player's server ID, Discord ID, license identifiers, ping, and any active warnings or notes from previous interactions. Connection history tracking shows when players joined and left the server, their total playtime, and any previous bans or kicks, giving moderators the context they need to make informed decisions about enforcement actions.

Anti-Abuse and Staff Management

Admin tools themselves can become a vector for abuse if not properly secured. Implement a permissions hierarchy that uses a principle of least privilege, granting each staff rank only the minimum commands needed for their role. Log every admin action to both your database and a Discord channel that senior management monitors. Consider implementing a two-person rule for destructive actions like permanent bans or economy wipes, requiring approval from a second staff member before execution. Regularly audit staff activity logs for unusual patterns like excessive teleportation, frequent vehicle spawns, or money additions that could indicate abuse. Remove admin access immediately when staff members leave the team, and rotate any shared credentials or API keys they had access to.
